Successful Operation in Rosario: 8 Arrested and 122 Weapons Seized

Eight people were arrested in Rosario after 32 raids in a major operation against arms trafficking. The Federal Police confiscated 122 illegal weapons and a large amount of drugs and money.

As part of the "Flag Plan" implemented by the Ministry of Security of the Nation to combat crimes in Rosario, Santa Fe, the Argentine Federal Police carried out more than 30 raids that resulted in the arrest of eight people for arms trafficking.

During the raids, a total of 122 illegal weapons were seized, many of which were involved in previous criminal activities. The mega operation was the result of an investigation conducted by the Anti-Drug Operations Department Litoral Rosario of the PFA, following a report from the Undersecretariat of Federal Intervention of the Ministry of Security, which identified a group of individuals with multiple requests for weapon possession between 2020 and 2024.

Under the order of the prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Gastón Ávila, who is in charge of the firearms task force, the Argentine Federal Police carried out raids related to the traceability of weapons and cartridges used in crimes. Thanks to the collaboration between various institutions, such as the Ministry of Security, the PFA, the Strategic Firearms Task Force of the Public Prosecutor's Office, ANMaC, and the provincial prosecutor's office, 13 people were identified who made more than 5 purchases of firearms.

In addition to the arrests, 122 weapons were seized, a bulletproof vest, more than 1000 cartridges, as well as more than 9000 grams of marijuana, items for indoor cannabis plant cultivation, 10 cell phones, 17,695,000 Argentine pesos, and 123,285 US dollars.
